The Human Design Manifesting Generator: Providing the Work Force Energy. The Builders.

The Manifesting Generator (30.4%) has a direct connection from a motor to the Throat, just like a Manifestor. But they also have a defined Sacral, just like a pure Generator. Because of this configuration, Manifesting Generators often believe they are Manifestors. Anyone with a defined Sacral has sustainable life force energy and they are designed to respond.

The Manifesting Generator has a defined Sacral.  The Sacral is the most powerful motor in the body.  It is the Center for work force and life force energy, and the source of sustainable energy. It literally generates the life force of the planet.

All of the motors have wave-like, inconsistent qualities, but the Sacral keeps going and going.  This energy is meant for being able  to provide all kinds of resources — education, raising children, taking care of the family, and the tribe (community).  It’s about work in every way, and doing all of those things sustainably.

Because they have a motor to the Throat, Manifesting Generators can initiate conversations, although they still need to act like Generators in other areas of their lives. (They need to wait to respond.)

The Sacral gets turned on by two sounds. When these sounds are emitted, the Sacral can find its truth. The Sacral is pretty far away from the head. So when you are operating out of rudimentary life force energy, if you have to stop and use words, you’re talking out of your head. Your Sacral is your compass, your navigational tool for your life. It will guide you and tell you where you need to go, when you need to do something, and what you need to do. The way to bypass your head is to make two sounds: “uh-huh” and “un-unh.” It’s life force energy. The uh-huh and the un-unh turn the Sacral on. That’s your truth. The gut is the source of the truth.

Manifesting Generators have to wait for something to respond to before they leap into action. This is, in essence, waiting for a “sign” or signal that the timing is right before taking action. Manifesting Generators have a deep inner awareness that “pulses” on or off. Following these strong gut-level pulses always puts the Manifesting Generator in the right place, doing the right work, and having the right impact. In addition, Manifesting Generators have a unique ability to do more than one thing at a time and need to constantly keep many balls in the air. They will also skip over details that aren’t important and find the fastest way to mastery.  If, however, they respond to correcting a step that has been skipped over, then they need to go back and correct it. A Manifesting Generator is uniquely capable of getting more things done than most and for a long period of time.

The Manifesting Generator Strategy is to wait to respond, then envision (imagine), reprocess, inform before taking action, then act.  If it still feels correct once you’ve imagined it, inform the people in your impact field.  The informing piece is important.  The Manifesting Generator moves fast, and they have a creative thought process that is non-verbal.  Their creative energy comes from deep within, not from the head.  For a Manifesting Generator to stop and explain what they’re doing takes too long.  It slows them down. The Manifestor does not need to be slowed down. The main goal of the Generator is to achieve mastery.  The Manifesting Generator cannot achieve mastery if they’re leaping and leaping.

The Manifesting Generator who is not responding runs the risk of being very busy doing nothing. And because the Manifesting Generator is so fast when they do respond, they have a tendency to skip important steps and frequently have to go back and fix the steps they skipped.

The Generator has a stair-step learning curve with steps and plateaus. The Manifesting Generator, because of the motor to the Throat, can move and respond quite quickly.  It can be hard for them to tell the difference between responding and initiating because they respond so fast.  Once they respond, the Manifesting Generator should stop and envision what their choice will be. They will do well if they try on ideas in their imagination first and visualize the outcome before they actually do something. Then, they still must wait before they take action. The pure Generator has a much more deliberate process. If a Manifesting Generator and a pure Generator start the same job at the same time, it will look like the Manifesting Generator is faster and learns much more quickly. But six months later the Generator will have caught up and they will both be at the same level of mastery.

When the Sacral responds to the Right Work, the Manifesting Generator has an enormous amount of energy. The Manifesting Generator is here to find the Right Work and to master that Work. A Manifesting Generator who is truly doing the Right Work doesn’t want to go on vacation and their need for sleep decreases.  The Manifesting Generator is here, through repetition, to become a Master of their Right Work. That Work shows up for them, and then they respond to it. They don’t create it out of their head.

The key to waking up your Sacral is to have someone ask you questions which are answered only with yes or no. Yes is uh-huh and no is un-unh. That’s your truth. This is because the Sacral can’t lie. There’s no energy for lying in the Sacral; the Sacral always knows the truth. If however, you have the 34 -20 channel, your response will be very fast, and the difference between your response time and the action taken may be a split second. A person with this channel will respond with “yes” and “no” rather than “uh-huh” and “un-unh.” Be aware that Sacral responses are based on the availability, or not, of your Sacral energy to connect to and do what you have been asked.

The emotional themes of the Manifesting Generator are anger and frustration. That is why the emotional theme of the Manifesting Generator is anger (from the Manifesting part of the personality) and frustration (from the Generator part of the personality). Manifesting Generators must also inform like Manifestors in order to stabilize the energy around them. They can go so fast that informing feels like it is slowing them down, but informing will decrease the  resistance they get from others.

The Manifesting Generator Aura. The aura is an invisible energy field that surrounds all living creatures, extending about 6 feet in every direction.  Its frequency communicates who we are to others, and governs the way we impact or connect with others.  The Manifesting Generator aura is open and enveloping, but it is not personal.

Manifesting Generators and sleep.  Manifesting Generators have to wear themselves out every day to get a good night’s sleep.  If they struggle with sleep it’s because they’re not wearing out their Sacral.  In contrast to Generators, Manifesting Generators should get into bed before they are exhausted and continue to work (or read or watch TV) until they are finished generating.  If you have a hard time falling asleep or sleeping well, it may be that you need more physical exercise to “wear out” your Sacral.

Quantum Purpose of the Manifesting Generator (per Karen Curry Parker): to physically manifest creativity and speed up the quantum process and linear time.

Manifesting Generator Keywords and Phrases: Moves faster than the Generator. Responsive, persistent, consistent, impatient; has the ability to hang in and do things over and over; can usually find the fastest way to do something by finding shortcuts. Sustainable energy, steady, needs to develop mastery in their area of interest or become bored; needs to take action before it becomes clear that this is what they want to put their time and energy into. Restless, fidgety, ready to engage at a moment’s notice, likes to take on new territory and launch new projects, need freedom and flexibility in their jobs.

More: Aggressive; Doer; Out there; Risk-taker; Dynamic; Active; Works Hard; Can be selfish.

Thank you for this thorough explanation!!
Hopefully I will make better decisions from now on. I have made wrong choices by being impulsive.

  2. Susan King says:

Reading this, I recognized the truth of the “manifesting generator.” I share the emotional and sacral, however. In the past (I didn’t know why), I used anger & frustration in my 20’s and early 30’s to empower and drive me to find my life’s work. THEN when I recognized my true purpose in life, it was like swallowing nuclear power; it has been driving me for 25 years now. Along the way I lived through catastrophic losses of family, my health, and loss of worldly possessions. Yet those experiences only confirmed my life’s work/its meaning and its importance. I see that the anger and frustration I’d used for power contributed to the losses I went through. Now I believe I’m very similar to the Sacral. The anger (except for the anger for social justice at times) is something I don’t need anymore and I know it only keeps me off my path or merely stuck. When frustration rises I can see what’s happening, turn and move forward again. Blessings and confirmation of truth abound in my life now. Thank you for your teachings.

When we’re young we seek to know ourselves. Even with guidance, assuming there is any, we still have to find out for ourselves who we are and what we’re made of. We do that through experience, through coming face to face with the limitations of our mind and body, and through digging deep to draw up the raw resources of creativity and resilience that we carry within. Initially, we fuel our resources with whatever tools we have at hand. If it’s anger or frustration, or both, that is a far sight better than surrendering to despair or apathy.

Insights and solutions come from tension and from persevering despite no clear way through. Resiliency grows thicker. Confidence in one’s ability to handle whatever life throws at us yields even more confidence. We can, with awareness, rely less on tools that can take us only so far, and develop new ones as a result of increased self-knowledge. It is important to understand what your core needs are and not deny them, to develop love of self and practice self-care, especially when in the midst of roiling tragedies or the unintended and unseen consequences of choices not fully understood.

How wonderful that you are so self-aware you can immediately assess an incorrect response –usually coming from the mind – and get in touch with what your Sacral is telling you. And beyond that, that you long ago discovered your true purpose. Thank you for sharing your story.

      Warm regards,
      Gloria

Hi, Susan. I can relate to your statement about having CATASTROPHIC losses, and I am really sad about not yet knowing my life’s purpose or work. I’m nearly age 36 and this really bothers me. Would you be willing to comment on what your life’s work/meaning is? How did you discover what your life’s work/meaning is? Did you have an ah-ha moment?

    • Gina says:

In reply to Susan King: I am working on that right now. How do you find your life purpose? I have been doing things “just to have a job” for a long time and got to the point where I can’t do it any longer but I don’t know what to “do.” Nothing is working and out of a job… and going crazy with all of this energy and spinning my wheels. Any ideas?

      • gloria says:

Hi, Gina. I have written several articles on finding your purpose. Read them here:

        http://livingfromyouressence.com/2017/06/worksheet-identify-souls-purpose/ and http://livingfromyouressence.com/2015/06/finding-your-purpose/

When you can no longer do a job, you’re burned out. The burnout could be physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, or all of these. A Manifesting Generator needs to love the work that they do. When you truly enjoy your work, you find that you have endless energy to support you in doing that work. When you are not doing the right work, and you don’t love that work, despite the fact that you have access to sustainable energy because of your defined Sacral, you will eventually burn out. Frequently, the cause of burnout for a Manifesting Generator is their failure to RESPOND; that is, to listen to their Sacral. Your Sacral knows what’s true for you. Your Sacral will keep you aligned with your correct work.

The Manifesting Generator Strategy is to wait to respond! If you don’t respond to opportunities that are offered from outside of yourself (the external world), and instead decide to leap in, you are working against your strategy. When you don’t allow your Sacral to respond, you will find yourself leaping head first into situations that are not correct for you. When you don’t allow your Sacral to respond, you will spin your wheels over and over BECAUSE you have put yourself in the wrong situation. This is because you are impatient (Manifesting Generators move quickly and hate to have to stop what they’re doing, especially once they’ve committed to a direction), and because you have not listened to your Sacral.

To wake up your Sacral, begin by asking yourself questions that have no charge to them and that can only be answered with a yes or no. You do not ask open-ended questions! Simple yes or no questions like: do I want some ice cream right now? Would I like to have a cup of tea? Do I want to see a movie? Then, after your sacral is warmed up, you can move on to questions that you really want the answers to.

If you find yourself hesitating, you’ve allowed your mind, or stinkin’ thinkin,’ to take over. Once analysis sets in, it is deadly to your truth because you’ve moved away from your Sacral and into your head.

Your mind will not help you connect to your truth. It cannot RESPOND to your truth. Once you’ve established your truth, then you can use your mind to figure out strategy and logistics, but only AFTER you know your truth. That is, whether or not something has been determined by your Sacral to be correct for you. The response from your Sacral comes from your body’s wisdom about what is right for you. Once you’ve established your truth, then you can go for it.

There is a caveat: after you know your truth, it is necessary that you check in with your Authority. If you have Emotional Authority (because your emotional solar plexus is defined), then you need to wait out the emotional wave. This wave moves up and down; stay with the entire motion of the wave before you take action. Your emotional authority will assist you with the timing of executing your truth. If you have Splenic Authority, there is no waiting; follow the Sacral response. And if you have neither Splenic nor Emotional Authority, then your Sacral functions independently.

Keep in mind that what is right for you at one phase of your life can change over time. Use your built-in strategy of responding to let your Sacral lead you to your truth.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
        Gloria

  4. Yar says:

    Hi Gloria!

Thank you for expanding on my type in this article.

I recently found out I am a Manifesting Generator and I feel relieved to know I don’t need to initiate anything, but I have a question about relationships in Human Design perspective that really bothers me. How am I supposed to find a girlfriend if I can’t initiate a conversation, a date or anything at all? I’d be happy to just wait for a girl to come by and say hello, but really, what will happen if all the Generators, ~70% of the population, just sit down and wait for something to respond to? Will there be enough initiators for us?

  5. gloria says:

    Dear Yar,

If life was a vacuum where there was no movement of energy, even the Manifesting Generators would be in trouble. But there is always movement, interaction, dynamism, creativity and chaos, and order and connection arising from all of that. In other words, it is not as if you live in a silent, static world where nothing is happening, and not a single breeze stirs.

On the contrary, there is a great deal happening all of the time, though we aren’t always aware of it, and so take it for granted. To be sure, some of what is happening is not intended for us. However, Generator types are magnets for opportunities and all kinds of stuff to respond to. There are energetic magnets around you all the time. If you seek a girlfriend, get yourself to the environments where your chances of meeting women are significant to high. This can take place online where all you need to do is respond to profiles; at jobs, events, and public places where you’re likely to have reason for a casual conversation with a stranger. You may consider friendly eye contact and a smile as something to respond to and correctly engage in conversation.

As I said, position yourself for success by seeking out environments and settings where you will have opportunities to respond to potential girlfriends. At minimum, all you need is friendly eye contact. And don’t forget that online profiles count as something to respond to.

    Best wishes,
    Gloria

    Dear Gloria,
My name is Yavor and I am sending you warm greetings from Sofia, Bulgaria
I have landed on this article after my first session with my new coach Elitsa /and first after 10 yrs of waiting and choosing/ and she defined me as a Manifesting generator and sent me some articles afterwards to educate myself.
I fit 100 % of what you described and you really confirmed that my decision making process which i thought is not very common, looks like a pattern that brings good results and is not a slow one…also i often act so fast that some people even can’t see the movement:) or I love so much to teach people ot share stories of my life that are great learning examples, that i decided 15 yrs ago to start writing…then i realized it will slow me down so i postponed book and limited myself to blog posts/now i wait for the technology to be able to extract all my knowledge from my brain into some form of educational material and of course I now use social media/
However, thank you for those great insights and let me share my recent self discovering story:
I have lived active, joyful and good life since my 30 ‘s and even i have worked actively on the business side, in my personal development i was more into the material achievements. I also didn’t find relevant to develop myself rather than just being a “good” and stylish player in life. I couldn’t really recognize what “spiritual” means. As well as what true love is since i was popular among women. I haven’t found my life purpose but still i was feeling awesome doing interesting and good things and life was great. Then my activeness and “mastery” in business and investment matters brought me to a complete bankruptcy (2008/2009) and i lost all my material possessions, huge debt i am still paying some last parts, reputation damage, other treats, parents and relatives disappointment, etc – the full cocktail of shit. It took me almost five years of hard fight (including with my fears) and efforts to get out of this and i did it in a way i am proud of, then another crisis (2012) – after partnership fights and money and ego issues i ended up in a hospital again with nothing 🙂
My wife left me shorter afterwards and broke my sacred believe and wish that i can have a sustainable and loving family for life. However, i was in a huge emotional crisis, that made me up with decisions and selfdicscovery.I beleive in myself and never give up and my efforts very luckily (but reasonably) got results and i started making plenty of money right afterwards. And I was like – “ha, do i need this money since i don’t have love”…and i finally realized that i should put love in first place
In the last five years I did well and grew up especially in the last 5-6 months i finished my third 4 year cycle of inner growth and now at the age of 45. After 12 years of education, self improvement and life-mastery efforts i can really say that i am Master of life. May be at a very low level, but i am satisfied with who i am. What that means:
I am confident in myself that i can manage any situation that life brings me at a calm and effective way (the best possible sometimes).
I am at a very stable and active life-flow – i am full of energy, very productive and need less sleep. I am very relaxed and fulfilled all the time – i combine work and pleasure etc
I have found my professional and i think life purpose.
    I have defined my values.
I have discovered the feminine energy (just recently) within me and that helped me to explain why i want to do certain things and i added them to my goals – i/e/like my love and understanding of women as well as my ability to communicate with them and my general willingness to empower people, combined with my vision that Women are those who will save the world brought me to defining a goal to help women empowering organisations and i am already working on it.
I have also found that all this circle of life brought me to my childhood desires (yes, those magic desires and believes at the fairy tails like true love, abundance, help) and personal qualities and values and i can say that i have connected the dots and now I am really a defined person, acting like i want and the way I want.
I have also recently met my perfect match for the first time in my life, The Woman of my life and i felt in love like never before, without even dating her yet (wish me good luck i am in the process:)
    Okay,
Thank you and all the best!

    Hello Gloria,
I’m wondering how you can help me with a couple of things of you would go around it.

I am 25 years old (4th September 1991) from Venezuela.

I feel like I’m reaching a point were I’m wondering how do I spend my time most efficiently because the amount of projects I’m trying to reach as a means to make ends meet is running me down. I ask my self the question, why do people have to have several jobs to thrive? Why can’t we work 40 hours a week and that be enough?

I’m very passionate about what I do, I work as a producer, shooter editor for a TV station and sometimes a project happens that really turns me on and I work with all my passion and it turns out great. I just feel like I have an uneasiness that tells me that this job is not enough and so I opened up another company on the side with my friend but what I’m realizing is that doing this company on the side really wears me down.

Right now I live with my girlfriend for a year and a half and we do awesome we are super in love and we are moving because we both squeezed in a bachelor to save money for a year. Which I couldn’t at all I stayed in the same level. I guess my mind is all over the place I just don’t know how to approach this because I don’t feel like opening up 3 more projects and not being able to do one right.

    Can you help me?

  8. gloria says:

Hi, Sam. Thanks for contacting me with your questions.

A manifesting generator needs to love the work that they do. When you truly enjoy your work you find that you have endless energy to support you in doing that work. When you are not doing the right work, despite the fact that you have access to sustainable energy because of your defined sacral, you will burn out mentally and emotionally, and also find that you are not as physically present as you should be.

So part of your quest is to make the most of the work that you love. This supports and sustains you at all levels, emotional, financial, physical, and spiritual. I hear you say that you are not receiving the cash that you need to make ends meet, or that you have a fear of not having enough money, so you take on extra work. This extra work may not be benefiting you because any financial gain is outweighed by the toll that it takes on you to keep the work going.

I would ask you to consider if your uneasiness around money isn’t completely rooted in what you are experiencing or perceiving as lack, but perhaps in more of an anticipation of not having enough. There is a big difference. If you are taking actions to prevent not having enough money even though you actually have enough to make ends meet, those actions will be based in fear, and you will not make the correct work decisions. You will take on work that is not right for you.

The worst thing for a generator type is to take on work that does not make them happy. This is the path to emotional and mental burnout for the generator, even if they have the physical ability to push ahead, In the end, it won’t work for you to do jobs that you don’t enjoy and that are out of alignment with your creative abilities and vision.

If you know that your commitment to these dull jobs is short-term and you accept that this is just a temporary situation that is holding you over until you get connected to a job that is correct for you, then your state of mind will be much freer. You could think of the jobs you have that you don’t like as stepping stones to something better. You are simply in transition waiting for your sacral to respond to the right opportunity. The generator sacral is always responding; you simply need to get in touch with that.

If you are jumping the gun, so to speak, because you are trying to prevent a situation, then you are not listening to your sacral and you will find yourself in an uncomfortable place. As a generator type, you have access to your truth through your sacral. It is important for you to connect with that, rather than using your mind to determine whether or not you should make this or that choice, or this or that move.

You should always ask your sacral if this situation is right for you. You will get a yes or no. If you are getting nothing, your sacral has gone to sleep, but you can wake it up by asking yourself questions that can be answered with a yes or no. It is best to begin by asking yourself questions that have no charge to them. Simple things like: do I want some ice cream right now? Would I like to have a cup of tea? Do I want to see a movie? Then you can ask yourself if this job is right for you, if now is the time to take on more work, if it is OK for you to stay as you are. You can ask yourself yes or no questions every day. You will learn to trust your sacral.

Go ahead and ask your sacral if now is the time to take on more projects. If it is OK to wait to take on projects. If now is the time to make certain changes and let go of what is not working for you, and so on. Eventually, you will get enormous clarity on what your next steps are. The sacral never lies. It is where you will find your truth each step of the way.

I hope this is helpful. You can always work with me over Skype.

    Warm regards,
    Gloria Constantin

  9. Sam Morrisson says:

    Hi Gloria,

You are definitely right, I feel like I was letting those emotions of lack and expectation/anticipation get the best of me. I just want to take a moment to thank you for writing such a heart felt email. I think that my perception of reality was getting a bit distorted and started going into victim/survivor mode which is not usual of me. I have a question, how can I connect with my Sacral?

    Thank you so much!

  10. gloria says:

    Hi, Sam.

As I said in my previous post to you, to wake up and connect to your sacral, begin by asking yourself questions that have no charge to them and that can only be answered with a yes or no. You do not ask open-ended questions! Simple yes or no questions like: do I want some ice cream right now? Would I like to have a cup of tea? Do I want to see a movie? Then, after your sacral is warmed up, you can move on to questions that you really want the answers to.

IF YOU FIND YOURSELF HESITATING, YOU’VE ALLOWED YOUR MIND/ STINKIN’ THINKIN’ TO TAKE OVER. ANALYSIS STARTS TO SET IN, AND IT IS DEADLY TO YOUR TRUTH. YOUR MIND WILL NOT HELP YOU CONNECT TO YOUR TRUTH. STAY OUT OF YOUR MIND. THE RESPONSE FROM YOUR SACRAL COMES FROM YOUR BODY’S WISDOM ABOUT WHAT IS RIGHT FOR YOU. THAT COULD CHANGE OVER TIME, BUT WE ARE LOOKING AT WHAT IS RIGHT FOR YOU AT A PARTICULAR JUNCTURE IN YOUR LIFE.

Again, the fastest way for you to find out whether or not something is correct for you is to ask yourself – or better yet – have someone ask you — questions that can only be answered with a yes or no. The sacral responds with uh-huh for yes and un-unh for no, unless you have the 34/20 channel. Then your response is so fast it’s quicker to say yes or no. Some sample questions to warm up the sacral:

    § Do you like chocolate?
    § Do you like coffee?
    § Do you like broccoli?
    § Is your life stress-free?
    § Do you smoke?
§ Do you drink too much coffee?
§ Do you get regular exercise?
§ Do you get enough sleep?
§ Do you get enough relaxation?
    § Do you have a satisfying life-partnership?
§ Do you have positive, supportive friends?
§ Do you get along well with your co-workers?
§ Do you look forward to beginning work each day?
§ Do you live where you want to live?
§ Do you love what you do?
§ Are you getting the opportunities you need?
§ Are you getting the recognition you need?
§ Do you feel that you are able to fully express your power?
§ Do you have a career that is in line with your true calling?
§ Do you have the time to pursue your creative desires?
§ Do you manifest everything you need effortlessly and easily?
§ Do you earn what you are worth?
§ Do you have freedom from fear of lack?
§ Do you have financial worries?
§ Do you manifest everything you want effortlessly and easily?
§ Do you love where you live?
§ Do you have a creative space for yourself that is fulfilling?

Remember to stay OUT of your head. Your mind is for strategizing, creating logistics, analyzing the situation, etc. Once you know if a situation is correct for you, then go to your mind for how to get from here to there.

I hope this is helpful. If you need more assistance, you can set up a session with me.

    Warm regards,
    Gloria Constantin

I can relate to the material above about waiting for the right time and being connected. It’s hard sometimes to figure out what these so called signs are, but I personally stopped really questioning it and found it a sign from a higher power/ god.

The universe is all connected and we are all energy, shaping and transferring cells and information on a molecular level.

  12. Kris says:

wow! spot on! finally some clarity – thank you so very much! will dive right into practice.

the question though from a busy mind –
it gets tricky with all those questions, for example – i KNOW that i like chocolate (maybe the 20-34 plays itself this way out?).
(the hesitation part really helps to recognize when the mind butts in)

i am relatively new to HD, and is it possible to shut down those centers due to stress? i’ve lost connection to my emotional and sacral centers several years ago (although they are defined in the body graph) – so i am on my way to re-discover and re-feel them. so once again – thank you for your tips and insights!

    • gloria says:

      Hi, Kris!

      Thank you for writing.

If you already know the answer to a yes-no question, then don’t ask it. Use one that you don’t automatically know the answer to.

You bet it’s possible to shut down your Sacral and Emotional Centers! It’s possible to shut down, period. This is often the result of burnout. Burnout comes from not following your path. Burnout is directly linked to leaping ahead and making things happen without first RESPONDING. When you repeatedly override the Sacral’s response, it will go dormant. But as I’ve said above in another reply, you can wake up your Sacral. Be gentle and be honest. Don’t apply pressure. Warm up your Sacral by initially asking questions that have no charge. Trust that your Sacral will support you. Trust that your Sacral will wake up. It will! It’s a powerful motor, and it is there to serve you by showing you the correct direction. To the extent that you are engaged in living your own life according to its blueprint and original agenda, your Sacral is also engaged. You cannot escape your connection to the Sacral — it is an integral part of your make-up and your highest functioning depends on allowing its truth to give you clarity and show you the way.

Talk about the Sacral responding to signs!! Your letter triggered so many hair raising, skin crawling “yes-s” that I had to stop reading several times to let my adrenaline calm down hahahahaha

So my instincts are guiding me now to ask you to contact me on Facebook under “Eve Soban” because I am meant to be part of the evolved humans you will introduce me to at home.

I’m coming home to Bulgaria after a life long journey around the world and I made the decision entirely from my gut, both not having a rational plan for what I will do there but at the same time knowing beyobd the shadow of a doubt that a huge energy is enveloping my arrival already and will literally throw magical things and people at me that I cannot picture in my mind’s eye right now.

I have experience with this type of “call” many times in my life, so I have learned to simply respond to the call, point my feet in that direction (buy the one way ticket) and hold space for what’s coming.

Well, your comment is simply one of the first (very loud) confirmations reaching out through the ethers to tap me on the shoulder and say “hello, youre on the right path, come this way, please ????”

    Looking forward to meeting soon.

  14. L MT says:

    Hi, Gloria.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I have a few questions; hope you can help. I am a manifesting generator. But don’t feel it at all. I am meant to have energy, but in fact I have no energy at all. If anything, I would consider myself pretty lazy. And in terms of multi-tasking and being the worker energy, I am totally incapable of doing two things at the same time. And am overwhelmed very, very quickly when I have more than a couple things on my todo list. I procrastinate all the time and actually don’t get much done at all.

I am in my 30s, and when I think back, I have had lots opportunities for work that I would be excited about and would start to work on, but nothing ever manifested from any of them. The one thing I will agree with is I do get physically ill when I do work just for the sake of saying I have a job. So I’ve decided to stop doing that.
I am desperate to find direction and purpose in my life and would love to have the qualities you describe but don’t feel I do.

Have you in your experience come across a manifesting generator like myself?

    • gloria says:

Hi, L MT. Thanks for writing.

      I have to ask:

      • How’s your health? Are you suffering from a physical infirmity or impediment that is getting in the way of you accomplishing anything?

      • How’s your support system? Do you have people around you who care about you, and that you trust?

      • Are you living in an area that you enjoy so much you couldn’t possibly entertain the idea of moving? Or do you live in an area that gets you down, and in order to make it through the day, you’ve shoved it down for so long that you’ve lost touch with your center and what really motivates you?

      • Have you tried hard to please others, making yourself take on a career or direction that doesn’t resonate with you?

      • Have you been putting off what you really long to do because it isn’t practical or easy to attain?

      • Are you being truly honest with yourself about what you really long to do? About what appeals to you?

      • Are you taking the advice of people who don’t really care about what you want and need? (This is deadly.)

When people are stuck, as you seem to be, and in addition, have no energy, and in addition, have no idea what direction to go in, it is indicative of having lost touch with your essential self. Or, it could be that you are depressed or ill, or a combination of having lost your way and your health. And any of those will cause you to lose your center.

I think it’s time to take some time to do things that are interesting for you. You seem to have lost your palate for living, for the ability to find anything delicious in your life. You need to get your juices stirring. I think a good approach for you would be to start simple – you need some pleasure in your life; some basic pleasures that will get you back in touch with the richness that is actually available to you in this life. Enjoyments.

It could be as simple as eating ice cream, enjoying a movie, eating a delicious meal, listening to music that stirs you, looking at beauty – nature, museums, art galleries. Enrichments. Perhaps you don’t get out enough. Getting out opens up new possibilities because it helps you shake off stagnant energy and gets you interested in something other than the decor at the bottom of the well you’ve spent far too much time in. You need to stir up your energy.

What have you been putting off? What have you been longing for? See if you can remember what used to light you up. You are several years past your first Saturn return, and this period is a time when things should be unfolding for you, and you are making decisions about your life based on what is calling to you, asking for your attention, or teasing you to look further into.

Instead, you seem to be doing the opposite – contracting instead of expanding. I encourage you to look within and flush out the fears that are keeping you turning very tight circles. You need to make a break for it. You need to break out, tear down the walls, or climb over them. Even if you don’t know where you’re going exactly, start taking steps. Just move, and walk towards what appeals to you. Even if the appeal isn’t much, you need to redevelop your sense of what is fun, interesting, and good in life. You need to start somewhere. The more you do that, the more you will be able to identify your path.

There is more than one path, and more than one way to get there. The trails you travel are up to you. But you need to get up and take some action. Do not demand too much clarity at this time, or expect a certain outcome. What is important is that you start moving towards something that has some degree of interest. You will eventually self-correct, and continue to self-correct, so that you move towards what is of greater and greater interest.

Keep in mind that this is not the time to censor yourself because what you want to do and are interested in seems off beat or impractical or unconventional. You must be true to yourself. Being true to yourself, or following your truth, and sticking with that, is what will pull you out of the deep hole you are in. Dismiss your fears. Confront them. You have nothing to lose, but you do have a life to reclaim. Your life is sacred and precious. Get on with the business of taking care of it.

      Warm regards,
      Gloria

        Hi Gloria

Thank you for this page! I think your suggestions for L MT have helped me sooo much also. I have always been a busy and driven manufesting generator, getting great jobs and opportunities, but somehow them ending fast or in a way that was not satisfying. When I reached 40, I reached burn out in my last job. My body felt like it was walking through mud and I literally had to stop, remove myself from my environment and take time out to rest. I dedicated myself to my strategy and experimented with learning to wait to respond. In that time, I had an inspired idea and whilst I was eager to push ahead and get the plan into action, I continued to wait to respond, and the results of the right people appearing to facilitate the plan was mind blowing. In my waiting for this new venture to come into fruition (which is currently happening), I have been living from a place of self preservation – not going back to my old ways of running around, pleasing people and saying yes to everything, but my life has become quiet. I am now really trying to hear my sacral response before I do anything, but it’s been harder than I thought or maybe I’m trying too hard. Your response to L MT really helped me, as I read it last night on the first day of me really needing to experiment with this new decision making strategy.

In your experience, if you have a low immune system due to too much action in life, is it possible to rebuild your health if you learn to follow your strategy? Does the energy return and how can we get better at following the sacral when I feel like my mind is still leading the sacral response.

I am following your advice and asking questions and getting friends to ask me questions (as of yesterday) but I’m hiding from life while I launch my new venture and the waiting seems to be ‘turning myself off’ to a place of no thrills, nothing I seek.

Please would you suggest more advice on how long it takes to tune into the sacral and what we can do to really change our ways. Thank you so much

  15. gloria says:

Hi, Amelia. Thank you for your comment!

It sounds like you might be trying to force your Sacral to respond. Sacral response comes naturally to genuine external opportunities or suggestions, but you can’t create those from within. They either exist outside of yourself or they don’t. In other words, you can’t make your Sacral respond if there’s nothing to respond to, and that is your Sacral’s job. It cannot actually make the opportunities for you to check out and then run with, assuming they are correct for you. It could just be that there’s nothing big or life-changing to respond to at this time, and your energy should go towards supporting those projects that are currently in process. Now is likely a period of waiting for something new. Be assured, however, that your Sacral has not gone off and deserted you. It is still responding every day to something, but to more mundane things like — what to eat, when to go to bed, what to wear, what to do…

Yes, of course, you can rebuild your health and have your energy return by following your strategy, and by taking it easy while you rebuild your health. It is also necessary to begin eliminating the clutter of commitments that were taken on incorrectly, and that are not correct for you. These extracurricular activities undermine your energy.

It takes practice to let go of your mind’s interference. What you are letting go of is your need to make something happen and the fear that if you do not create something soon, you will be in trouble or be seen as lazy or incompetent. You know that your mind cannot create opportunities for your Sacral to respond to, but it can outline the process for getting to your goals. Instead of trying to put your future inside of this or that box, allow your imagination the freedom to explore without the pressure of time, and without your life having to look a certain way. If you allow your energy to flow without imposing expectations on it, it will flow naturally towards those things that are appropriate for you.

Sit still and just be with what is, without judging it. For five minutes, be content with your experience, no matter what you are feeling, no matter what your mind is doing, and no matter what is happening in the outer circumstances of your life. If you can accept the moment as it is, you will quiet your mind and the need to make something happen. The need to make something happen is a distraction, and is an incorrect use of mind. Be a witness of your thoughts and feelings. Be curious about them, watch them as you would watch a sunset or a butterfly or the quiet murmur of a brook on a late summer afternoon. Watch them change, similar to the way light changes with the gradual descent of the sun.

When we to stop trying to make something happen, we give the Sacral the space to respond and we give ourselves the ability to feel that response. This allows our energy to flow into and respond to the opportunities which match us.

    Peace,
    Gloria

    • amelia says:

Gloria – thank you soooo much, you are pure gold. You have such intelligence and kindness, thanks for really ‘seeing’ and for being so helpful with your generous response.

I definitely try too hard. I got introduced to human design by a mind blowing intuitive doctor. You both share such a lovely way in explaining your knowledge. When I listen to Ra talk about manifesting generators, it kind of makes me hate myself ! He says if you are the archetype manifesting generator with throat activated, (which I am) that you can skip the sacral sounds and say yes or no instead?

IF YOU HAVE THE CHANNEL 34-20, YOUR RESPONSE MOVES SO QUICKLY THAT YES AND NO ARE FASTER THAN THE SACRAL SOUNDS.

I do look back on my life and see that the decisions I made when my gut was like ‘hell no’ or ‘hell yes’ didn’t always look good to my mind or to another person, but they were absolutely correct for me. I can also see how I have exhausted myself doing what others ‘think’ I should do.

      YES. REVIEWING THE PATTERNS HELPS!

That was such great advice to sit with what is and practice acceptance, that was a perfect suggestion. And thank you for your reassurance that it hasn’t deserted me.

      OF COURSE.

I’m a single parent and I went back to college to study Graphic Design in what felt like a strong spontaneous gut response to the opportunity that was offered to me. I had no idea that I was going to go back to school and study again, but I heard my sacral response and it was the most exhilarating and correct two years.

Once a project is underway, I do try too hard. Which I did in the case of studying and stopped being able to hear my gut as my agenda was suddenly so busy. Unfortunately, I got very skinny and unwell and suddenly couldn’t afford the rent and my daughter and I were experiencing the kindness of strangers and friends to house us. It took a while to climb out of that situation and I was left with a deep shame and guilt of being so ‘frivolous’ for going back to college when I had responsibilities.

Unwell and without a base, I went from job to job, minimum wage, no sense of confidence, and just feeling bad and unworthy because of my very real living situation that was always an unknown.

      : (

I have just (two years later) bought us a flat and with that comes the luxury of shutting the door on others ‘helpful’ opinions about what I should have done, etc., and I’ve been slowly ditching the guilt for giving my daughter a bumpy ride.

      GOOD.

I’m not surprised my immune system has crawled off into the corner to have a little sit down, because my life has been full of opportunities that have ended in a similar way. It looks like wild ups and downs from the outside, and I’m really hoping that I can get my health back.

WHEN YOU STOP TRYING TO GET AHEAD OF YOUR ENERGY, YOU WILL STOP SPINNING YOUR WHEELS AND HURTING YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM. BE AWARE OF WHEN YOU HAVE THE URGE TO ANTICIPATE YOUR SACRAL RESPONSE. WAIT FOR IT INSTEAD. WAIT FOR IT. LISTEN CAREFULLY. TIMING IS A REAL THING HERE IN THIRD DENSITY. THERE IS A RHYTHM AND A FLOW THAT IS UNIQUE TO YOU. WHEN THE CURRENT IS CORRECT, YOUR SACRAL WILL LET YOU KNOW IT’S OK TO JUMP IN AND FORD THE NEW ENERGY TRAILS. BECAUSE YOU ARE RECOVERING YOUR HEALTH, THE TIMING OF OPPORTUNITIES WILL ADJUST TO WHAT YOU ARE ABLE TO HANDLE. NO MORE, AND NO LESS. AS YOU BECOME HEALTHIER, YOU BECOME MORE AVAILABLE. STAY INSIDE THE PARAMETERS OF YOUR ENERGY AT ALL TIMES. MANIFESTING IS NOT DEPENDENT ON FORCING THE ISSUE. THAT IS THE WAY TO LACK OF COMPLETION, DISAPPOINTED RESULTS, AND DEBILITATION. NOW THAT YOU KNOW, YOU ARE EMPOWERED. CONTINUE TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!

      XOXO

Thank you Gloria, you are a gem.
      Much love

    Dear Gloria,
Thank you for your time. How to do when in a relationship, we are both manifesting generator and that one of them is moving away to solve important family problems. My friend is asking me for some time but wish us to keep in touch in writing. Which of the two must come to the other. ? At first I found the right attitude, now, I do not know anymore … I lost contact with my centre sacred …

  17. gloria says:

Hello, Doemi. Thank you for writing.

I am sorry that your friend is moving away. This is clearly a loss for you, yet they must leave you behind in order to take care of a family situation. This is surely a situation that is stressful for them as well, with its own losses and adjustments.

Your question about who must come to the other is simply a matter of asking the question which can be answered with a yes or no. This is correct for your strategy. You can ask: is it all right if I write to you while you’re gone? It is that simple. It sounds like your friend has already asked you for some time. That is also answered by you with a yes or no. It does not matter who asks first.

I am sorry that your mutual friendship is undergoing stress, but these are circumstances outside of your control, and seemingly, your friend’s. It will be helpful for you to focus on taking care of yourself.

  18. Daniela says:

    Hi Gloria,

Thank you for your amazing advice! Reading your comments, your wisdom, and kindness, have made me feel more in tune with my design. I have some questions regarding my present situation, hoping you can help me a little further.

I’m an MG with full authority in my Sacral. I’ve been unemployed for almost 6 months after quitting a job where I didn’t feel like my authentic self. I was very unhappy bc my chances to learn/grow were very limited. I acted on it, and decided to leave.

I’m in the search for a job that would be potentially an opportunity to learn more about what I’m very passionate about (sustainable design). However, as I continue in my search, my heart breaks every time I apply/go to an interview and get no response or feedback. It is even harder when I find myself trying to pursue what I really want to do with my life, but also realizing that in my country, it would be particularly difficult.

My current state feels like a huge test. It has been specially hard for many reasons. It has been emotionally exhausting and overwhelming. I have always been very independent and hard working, but now I feel powerless and vulnerable (mainly considering that I became economically dependent on my mother). Feels like a big step backwards when I’m trying to move forward.

    My questions:

    – How can I call in what I really want while respecting my design strategy?

    – How do I listen carefully to my authority center, be patient, stay true to myself and not feel consumed by the moment’s frustration?

    • gloria says:

      Dear Daniela,

You’ve read it over and over in the discussion here — you will call in what you really want if you simply live your strategy. Follow your strategy according to your type, and everything unfolds. You are Sacral expressed — you will not achieve your path unless you RESPOND to things outside of you, outside of your mind. You cannot force the Sacral to respond to something that it does not resonate with, you cannot force the Sacral to respond to something that is not there, and you cannot force the timing of events for your life. There is an energetic trajectory and built-in timing that is unique to you, and that you must follow. You do this by responding.

Impatience comes from thinking that you will miss the boat if something does not occur for you within the timing that you’ve set for yourself. I am not saying it is incorrect to set goals with dates; dates can help you stay focused. However, you must relax into divine timing, as that is something out of your control.

It is important to have faith that your life is unfolding as it should — not as you think it should, or as others think it should. There is a larger context which you cannot see from where you are, but which is dynamic, and will continue to take you to where you need to go, and who you need to keep evolving into. Resisting the intelligence of the design and deeper intention of your life will keep you turning in circles.

We often think that life has to look a certain way by a certain time, but that is not what life is about. For each one of us, you included, it is important to “stay in the room” until the work is complete. Work left undone must be finished. All things will be addressed and healed when the timing and flow of energy (your Sacral) indicates that now is the time for moving forward with something. Opportunities that belong to you will show up in the correct time. In the meantime, address your incomplete transactions or they will grow exponentially, and you will be mucking through a pile of unfinished business.

Becoming impatient and putting the cart before the horse will only result in backlog. You need to stay grounded in body and mind, and follow your Sacral response. The truth is in your Sacral. The timing is in your Sacral. To get more acquainted with the feel of your Sacral response, have a friend ask you questions which can be answered only by yes or no, or uh-huh or uh-uh. Do this more than once, and you will learn to recognize when your Sacral is guiding you.

Trust that the next step will become apparent. Take the step that brings you the most excitement — this is always your cue for the right direction. Taking the next step on behalf of your joy is much better than not moving at all. If you find yourself losing your joy, then correct your course to reconnect with it. When you follow your joy, how you live your life will gradually come back into congruence with your life purpose. When you follow your joy, what is right for you will find you.

When you do what you came to do, you will be supported. If you do your work, you will be healed.

      One more thought:

IMAGINE THAT SOMEONE PUT YOU ON THIS EARTH AND TOLD YOU TO GO OUT THERE AND DO WHAT YOU AGREED TO DO. KNOWING YOUR UNIQUE SKILLS AND STRENGTHS, WHAT WOULD THIS PERSON HAVE POINTED YOU TOWARDS?

  19. gloria says:

    Dear Daniela,

I believe the most important thing you can do in this time of transition is to focus on taking care of yourself. Take advantage of being able to call your own hours to rest, to muse, to allow your imagination and dreams to go in whatever direction they will. Read and study what appeals to you, no matter if it does not seem to have a practical purpose. This is your time to rest and rejuvenate and sink your roots deeper into your precious life. Do not despair; all is not as it seems, and there is a gift inside this shift.

    Warmly,
    Gloria

  20. Daniela says:

    Dear Gloria,

Thank you sooo much for your kind advice ❤

You’ve helped me to understand how much I need to listen my body to live my strategy in its purest form. My mind was cloudy and getting in the way. I started to judge myself too hard. My decisions, my dreams and even all the things I’m proud of. Living up to the standards of society can be distressing and debilitating. For this, I appreciate your guidance from the bottom of my heart.

Your energy is truly beautiful! Words can not express the weight that you are taking off of my shoulders by making me realize that divine timing knows what’s best for me. I need to trust that MY life is unfolding the way it should, not as others think it should. I’ll DO my work and let the universe guide me towards my purpose.

Indeed! Part of doing my work, will be taking care of myself. Since I graduated from college, I’ve been working 24/7 on unfulfilling jobs, involved in very toxic relationships and not feeling happy or in peace with myself. As you mentioned,¨Work left undone must be finished.¨

Can’t wait to see all the bright experiences life has stored for me.

    Sending love,
    Daniela

Translated from French to English (via the internet):

Dear Gloria, thank you for your interest and your words, I am in crisis, I am 47 years old and my frustration is immense, I start and I give up everything I do. Currently I am paralyzed, I have no direction and no more emotional or financial resources. I live with a man who has become a dear friend but with whom the blooming has not been. I feel deep in the hole. Thank you very much for your return cordially.

    • gloria says:

      Dear Dritsas,

      Thank you for writing.

You are in the liminal zone, the space between the stories of your life. You have experienced disruption, that is, a radical change of circumstances, and now you are in the void. You are actually moving into an expanded phase of your life, but many things are at work behind the scenes. Please have patience with this process and the timing, and be kind to yourself. No situation is stagnant; the energies are always moving and evolving.

I recommend that you read two of my articles on this website. I believe they may give you some additional insights, and perhaps even appreciation of your current situation.

Please read: https://tinyurl.com/yxu4zs45 – Let Go and Be Grateful for your Life, and https://tinyurl.com/y3hb3d7f – In the Liminal Zone.

      Warmly,

Addendum: You didn’t say so, but I assume you are a Manifesting Generator because you posted to this page. When we don’t follow our strategy for our Type, we get in trouble. As a Manifesting Generator, your strategy is to RESPOND to opportunities from outside of yourself. When a Generator does not respond, and instead commits to a situation before they’ve checked with their Sacral, then they take on situations and people that are not correct for them, and that are out of alignment for them. Your Sacral knows your truth, and it is critical to wake it up and learn to trust it. No matter the pickle you find yourself in, you will gradually get out of it for the reasons I’ve noted already, AND it is important that you start working with your Sacral response now. Peace, Gloria

  23. Divya Madaswamy says:

    Hi Gloria,
Thank you for your amazing blogs. I stumbled upon it when I was learning more about a Manifesting Generator. I have hit a roadblock in my career and life as for me everything revolved around me having a career. I now realize that I have been in unexciting jobs for more than 10 years now and have been following a beaten path due to expectations set by myself, parents and society. I also think I never had a dream or vision for myself except earning money and becoming independent. I have been doing things that were told to me. But I never followed anything out of my own interest. At 36, I have now resigned a well paying job and I don’t seem to have any upgraded vision for myself yet. Except that I need to follow my heart. But I don’t know where my heart is. How do I go about my path when there is no vision? I also have a lot of fear and social anxiety because of which I am not even able to enjoy small things. I put myself into tremendous pressure when I am trying to do something. I can’t seem to enjoy anything. I have taken up several projects but I have not been able to finish even one of them. I know that the time I have in my hand will never come back, yet I keep wasting my time on TV to get through the negative thoughts. How do I gain confidence in myself and live life without a fear? How do I go forward in life when I seem to have no passion or vision or focus?

    • gloria says:

Hi, Divya. Thank you for your comment.

      It sounds like you’ve lost your mojo. And your vitality…your hunger…your passion…your hope…your freedom…your excitement…your energy.

You’re burned out. Burnout has multiple origins, and it affects every part of our being. We are physically tired, emotionally exhausted, unable to stay focused, and spiritually depleted. When we’re in burnout nothing has appeal, and there is no energy for further exploration.

When you’re burned out, it’s easy to question your purpose. It’s easy to question whether whoever put you here even cares about your life. It’s easy to believe you have been abandoned by everyone, including the Universe that created you. When you have lost connection to meaning, to purpose, to YOU, you have lost connection to life.

Burnout can last a short time or for years. Burnout can interfere with your ability to see how things can be different and to find solutions to how you can take back your life. This state of mind can even convince you that there’s nothing you can do to turn things around, so why try.

Take heart, your lack of passion and vision is temporary. It is just that you have lost touch with your yearnings. When the Sacral response has been overridden again and again, this extraordinary compass shuts down. We lose touch with our core essential truths – our dreams, our visions, and what lights us up.

You are between the stories of your life. This is a period of time for you to re-gather your energy. When our energy is low, creativity also flows more slowly. Higher energy supports greater creativity. Since you have not connected with your Sacral response in a long time, your capacity to be open to your own creative flow is much diminished. But there is good news — when you are well rested and feeling much better, you will find that life does indeed offer you opportunities that you will not want to refuse.

But first, you need to stop putting pressure on yourself to make radical changes in your life. You need to stop pressuring yourself to feel differently than you do at this time. Stop pressuring yourself to reinvent yourself and create a new path for yourself in short order. It doesn’t work that way.

There is an evolution taking place in your life. You do not need to know where it is taking you. You do not need to know what your life will look like in three months. Understand that energy is always moving, and what for you may seem like stagnation or a plateau is really just an inbreathing, a pause, as life helps you let go of what no longer serves you. Stay open, and be curious about the shift you are experiencing. No more is asked of you at this time.

Take advantage of the time you have, this transitional phase that you have surrendered to. The important thing is to rest, to take the break. Practice reconnecting to your Sacral. Ask yourself questions that can only be answered with a yes or no, and grunt your response out loud. You want to access the truth that lives in your primal core. Nurture and nourish yourself by surrounding yourself with those things that have potential to make your heart sing again. Nature, pets, music, poetry, and art are universally uplifting. Do what you need to do to take care of your basic needs, and let go.

Allow your imagination to drift into dreaming. You don’t need to be attached to any idea or visions. You are not seeking an outcome. Just let yourself drift into pleasant scenes — perhaps a late afternoon in a forest where the only sounds are the susurration of leaves in the breeze and the occasional bird song. The secret path you are on leads to a brook. You stop to rest and watch as the water breaks open over the rocks as it continues its way downstream. You see darting dragonflies and notice buttercups on the opposite shore. Without attachment, explore possible futures. Who might you need to be and what would you need to do to be a viable player in any of those futures?

At some point, you will feel a quickening of vitality and renewed interest in life. You will have identified possible directions to explore. The most important thing is to reconnect with your passion. You can empower your awakened passion by making every choice in service to your future, to the life you want to be living, to how you want to look and feel, to the people you want around you, and to the experiences you want to have. Be patient with yourself and the process.

You can re-awaken your passion and connect with your vision by moving towards what your Sacral responds to, even if it is faint at first. Take small steps as you re-discover your Sacral and where it wants to lead you. While you are here, there is a wealth of life to be explored and enjoyed, and your Sacral will keep you aligned with the projects and commitments (as well as the small things) that are correct for your unique talents, interests, and yearnings. Take your time. Rest, surrender to the current flow you find yourself in, and give up all the useless demands and expectations that were never yours to meet anyway. There is another vision for you — another life.

      Peace,
      Gloria

Thank you for this. I am a Manifesting Generator and it’s always puzzled me why some nights I can sleep, vs others. Your tips to use up all the energy and also get to bed early enough to avoid a second wind -and to read are super helpful. Thank you

Hi, Wendy. Thank you for commenting.

To review, while Pure Generators do best when they go to bed when they’re exhausted, Manifesting Generators often benefit from going to bed before they’re exhausted, and then making themselves exhausted on their way to sleep. Exactly how you exhaust yourself is entirely up to you. For example, some like to read a book and others watch TV.

    Dear Gloria,

Thank you for a lot of enlightment to better understand my burnouts. But at 36 I am still struggling with my energy and getting up in the morning…being very slow with almost all what I’m doing, like I was since my early childhood. Nevertheless, I relate to many points like multitasking and having unfinished projects. As well I have (and love) my three jobs.

My sacral center and identity-center are unconciously connected and split from the rest of my chart (so it’s an “unconcious isle”). My throat-center is connected to the spleen-center, there with the gate “no communication.” The throat-center is also connected to the solar plexus, half conscious (36), half unconscious (35). The solar plexus is my authority.

I burned out several times in every life area. And I still struggle desperately to learn how to connect myself within myself without getting stucked in unhealthy relationships or jobs. And how to find energy (motivation) in me at all, not to keep depressed lying in my bed all day and night long, being “busy with doing nothing” until anyone calls me up to do anything for them.

Yes, I feel very thankful for a lot of very fitting connections, support, and missions in my life, but feel still deeply frustrated and energy-less and don’t find the bug. Maybe you have an idea of what’s going on and specific advice?

    (sorry for my English)

Hi, Sonja. Thank you for writing. I am sorry you are having problems with your energy.

Two things come to mind for me. One is that you are not consistently following your Sacral response. At times you are, but the times you don’t, you end up committing your time and energy to projects that don’t honor who you are or what your specific energy offers. Even though you have a defined Sacral, as you found out long ago, it doesn’t mean that you are going to be sustainably energetic when you override its wisdom.

I would ask that you review if you are truly listening to your Sacral each time something or someone asks for your energy. Remember that the Sacral responds positively to those requests for your energy that are respectful of you and your energy. Your Sacral recognizes when an opportunity or request for your involvement is in alignment with what you have to offer, and your availability as well. The Sacral is your compass, your navigational tool for life. It will guide you towards what is correct for you and steer you away from what is not. But it cannot help you if you override or ignore it.

The mind will try to talk you into or out of situations. But your mind doesn’t know what’s correct for your unique energy. It simply doesn’t have access to it, and that’s because it isn’t set up to function that way. To wake up and connect to your Sacral, begin by asking yourself questions that have no charge to them and that can only be answered with a yes or no. You do not ask open-ended questions! Simple yes or no questions like: do I want some ice cream right now? Would I like to have a cup of tea? Do I want to see a movie? Then, after your sacral is warmed up, you can move on to questions that you really want the answers to.

The thing is to access your Sacral response for everything. That way, when the big asks for your energy come along, you will be ready with a clear response.

The second thing that comes to mind is that you may have an underlying health issue that is causing you to have less energy and that also contributes to depression. If you haven’t, you might consider having a physical checkup. In addition to allopathic medicine, you might be interested in what Chinese medicine has to offer. Or an Ayurvedic approach, or perhaps all of these.

There is clearly something out of balance, and it could be a combination of not always using your Sacral response, and physical and emotional conditions that need attention and balance.

    I hope this helps.

    Peace,
    Gloria

    HI Gloria
I love your work! it has kept me very busy going through all your information and blog. I would truly value your response to my dilemma.

I am a 2/4 MG and had found my niche in work where it was more like play to me even though I worked very hard and long for many years. I am now 63 years old. My job was as a Travel Agent (located in Australia) were travel agencies, and indeed travel is a distant memory since March 2020. I am trying to be patient and wait for something to turn up that I can get excited about but not much seems to be on the horizon.

I am single and live alone and every day is a challenge to find something that lights me up. How do I start again doing something that doesnt interest me? A bit lost – in need of some guidance if you can assist?

    • gloria says:

Hello, Faye. Thank you for writing.

How do you do something that doesn’t interest you? You don’t. There is no energy connection between you and something that doesn’t interest you. When we’re looking at direction and purpose for our lives, including otherwise meaningful temporary assignments, we are always looking at Sacral Response. At an energy connection.

If there is no response, there is nothing to do. At least, with the particular thing that elicited no response.

Contraction and expansion periods are natural cycles of nature, and they apply to our individual lives as well. Everyone has their own cycle with periods of waiting and taking action. In between these two ends of the spectrum we follow our joy. We explore those things that are interesting to us. If there is absolutely nothing in all the world that is interesting – not ice cream, not watching movies, not reading books you hadn’t gotten around to, not talking to friends, not working on your hobbies, not playing an instrument or learning to play one, not going for walks, not adopting a pet, not volunteering at some worthy charity, not resting, not playing with ideas and possibilities, and so on, then this total lack of ability to be called to attention by anything could well point to generalized burnout.

If you are in burnout — and one of the big tell-tale signs is NOTHING appeals / everything is BORING — then the thing for you to do is R E S T.

Everyone burns out. You may be out of ideas. You may not be able to access ideas. Because you need rest.

It’s true that we’re in a non-normal situation where activity and commerce and connection has all but stagnated. So yes, there are fewer opportunities to respond to. But it doesn’t mean you can’t dream. It doesn’t mean you can’t get into a period of breathing and hammock-swinging. It won’t last, this opportunity to gaze at stars and play with recipes and writing poetry. Take advantage of it.

As a Manifesting Generator, it is important to apply your Sacral energy. That is, if you’re not too burned out to take any action. If you’re not, then getting up and moving around and doing stuff just to get the energy moving will make you feel better. It is not uncommon for an MG who feels stuck to find that once they get their energy flowing again things become more interesting and the Sacral starts to actively respond to stuff.

Manifesting Generators, more than the other Human Design types, do well with “throwing spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks.” In other words, when we’re throwing spaghetti, we’re not concerned with having intentions or ideas first. We’re just dancing with possibility for the heck of it. No pressure to come up with something. The act of “throwing” is actually quite engaging for the Sacral.

You can get stuck in your head thinking that you need to do this or that to make something happen. Remember that Human Design’s brilliance is about energy and timing. Using energy, using it correctly, and allowing divine timing to give you the signal for when to act. In Human Design, everything is energy and we have a unique energetic signature that is intended to interact with the world (people, things, events, etc.) in a very specific way. From that specific way, specific things to respond to happen.

Do some kind of moving. Dance, walk, shimmy, jump. For you, starting with the physical is key. See what happens, and be patient. Let your Sacral respond and keep your head out of the mental chatter loop. The mind will override your ability to access your Sacral every time.

If you are still getting nothing, as if you were floating in outer space all by yourself, then it looks like burnout. And for burnout, resting and enjoying yourself while you’re resting will eventually get you perky enough to get moving and then your Sacral will connect with you and what’s out there that has your name on it.

      Peace,
      Gloria
